Hyundai Auto Canada Achieves Recognition As One Of Ontario's Best Workplaces For 2024
Hyundai Auto Canada (HAC) has been acknowledged as one of the Best Workplaces™ in Ontario for 2024 by Great Place to Work®. This recognition marks the seventh award from the organisation within a year, underscoring Hyundai's dedication to creating a positive work environment. The accolade places HAC among leading companies in Ontario known for exceptional workplace standards.
HAC actively collaborates with experts to offer on-site health resources for its employees. These include an annual biometric screening clinic at their headquarters, allowing team members to monitor their health and share results with personal healthcare providers. Additionally, mental health services are available, offering confidential support and advice for both professional and personal challenges.

The company also provides massage therapy and yoga sessions as part of its wellness initiatives. These efforts highlight HAC's commitment to prioritising employee well-being and fostering a supportive workplace culture.
To enhance workplace conditions, HAC utilises various communication methods to gather employee feedback. This includes online surveys, skip-level meetings with directors, and group discussions with the president and CEO. Feedback remains confidential and is used to improve facilities, health benefits, policies, and procedures.
Kirk Merrett, director of human resources and administration at Hyundai Auto Canada, expressed gratitude for the recognition: "We are grateful for the continual recognition by Great Place to Work® for our ongoing commitment to creating a workplace culture built on respect, inclusivity and the overall well-being of our team members."
Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives
HAC encourages participation in Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) as part of its diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. The company has three active ERGs: Parents@HAC, Women@HAC, and Inclusion@HAC. These groups organise fundraising activities, workshops, and provide resources for members.
The Women@HAC ERG led to the creation of Empowering Auto, a non-profit aimed at making the automotive industry more inclusive for women. This initiative extends HAC's impact beyond its organisation into the broader automotive sector.
