Hyundai Motor India has introduced the updated Alcazar SUV, starting at Rs. 14.99 lakh for the petrol version and Rs. 15.99 lakh for the diesel variant. This mid-life facelift follows the design and feature updates seen in its sibling, the Creta. The new Alcazar is available in four trims: Platinum, Signature, Prestige, and Executive.
Engine Options and Performance
The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar offers two engine choices: a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine delivers 158bhp and 253Nm of torque, while the diesel engine produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque.

Both engines come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. For automatic options, the petrol variant features a seven-speed DCT, whereas the diesel variant is paired with a six-speed torque converter unit.
ARAI-certified fuel efficiency figures for the new Alcazar are as follows:
| Variant | Mileage (km/l) |
|---|---|
| Petrol six-speed manual | 17.5 |
| Petrol seven-speed DCT | 18 |
| Diesel six-speed manual | 20.4 |
| Diesel six-speed torque converter | 18.1 |
Design Updates and Features
The exterior of the Alcazar now includes a redesigned grille, updated headlamps, new alloy wheel designs, and Hyundai's signature connected taillamps. Despite retaining its original silhouette, these changes give it a fresh look. Buyers can choose from eight exterior colours including Atlas White, Abyss Black Pearl, Ranger Khaki, Fiery Red, Robust Emerald Pearl, Starry Night, Titan Grey Matte, and Atlas White with Abyss Black roof.
The cabin has been upgraded with larger dual digital displays, ventilated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, boss mode function for the left rear passenger seat, and Level 2 ADAS. The seating configurations remain in six-seat and seven-seat layouts across different trims.
Market Position and Competition
The Hyundai Alcazar competes with other three-row SUVs like the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700. These rivals also offer six- and seven-seat options similar to the Alcazar.
The powertrain options are shared with models like the Creta, Kia Seltos, and Kia Carens. This ensures that buyers have reliable performance choices across various models within Hyundai's lineup.
DriveSpark Thinks
This facelift aims to keep the Alcazar competitive in its segment by offering updated features and improved design elements while maintaining its core strengths. The launch of this updated model marks another step in Hyundai's strategy to refresh its lineup with modern features and enhanced performance options.
