Hyundai Alcazar Facelift To Be Launched Soon: Comes With Updated Exterior, Interior, Features & More

Hyundai is preparing to launch the Alcazar facelift, aiming to strengthen its position in the mid-size SUV market. Test mules have been frequently spotted, suggesting a launch by September. The updated model will feature refreshed exteriors while retaining the existing petrol and diesel powertrain options.

Exterior Updates

Recent sightings reveal changes in the front grille and bumper of the Alcazar facelift. We also expect the side profiles to include redesigned body cladding and new alloy wheels for a sportier look. Furthermore, the tailgate appears entirely new, and the taillights have been redesigned to offer a sharper rear profile.

Interior Enhancements

The Alcazar facelift will boast a refreshed dashboard and a dual-screen setup similar to that of the new Creta. Updates are also expected in upholstery and interior theme options, enhancing the overall cabin experience.

ADAS Features

A key update for the Alcazar facelift is the inclusion of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). This addition is crucial as competitors like Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector already offer ADAS features. The ADAS kit for Alcazar is likely borrowed from the new Creta.

The Creta's ADAS suite includes 19 Level 2 features such as forward collision warning, blind spot collision warning, lane keep assist, driver attention warning, lane following assist, leading vehicle departure alert, rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist, surround view monitor, and blind spot view monitor.

Powertrain Options

The current engine options will continue in the facelift model. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces 160 PS and 253 Nm torque with transmission choices of 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 116 PS and 250 Nm torque, available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

Hyundai Alcazar is known for its reliable performance across various terrains due to its drive modes—Comfort, Eco, Sport—and traction control modes—Snow, Sand, and Mud.

Pricing Expectations

With these updates, the Hyundai Alcazar facelift will be priced higher than the current model. Currently, it starts at Rs 16,77,500 with the top-spec variant listed at Rs 21,28,400 (ex-showroom).

DriveSpark Thinks

The upcoming changes aim to differentiate the Hyundai Alcazar further from Creta while enhancing its appeal in the competitive mid-size SUV segment. We also expect the model to perform better in terms of sales.
