Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Launch Soon: Here's What To Expect

Hyundai is set to introduce the Alcazar facelift in India, marking it as the third SUV offering from the brand this year. This development follows closely on the heels of the Creta update, with the revamped Alcazar anticipated to hit the market by May or June. The launch is strategically placed after the debut of the Creta N Line, which is expected next month.

Design and Features of the Hyundai Alcazar Facelift

The Alcazar, while sharing its foundation with the Creta, distinguishes itself with a unique identity and a more upscale appearance. The forthcoming facelift promises to introduce styling cues similar to those seen in the updated Creta. However, it will feature distinct elements such as the front bumper, grille, headlamp and Daytime Running Lamp signature, along with specific designs for the alloy wheels and rear tail-light.

Inside, the Alcazar is poised to inherit the redesigned dashboard from the Creta facelift. It is expected to retain high-tech features from the Creta, including twin 10.25-inch screens, an ADAS suite, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated seats. While the cabin space and seating arrangement will remain the same, updates to the upholstery and interior colours are anticipated to refresh the interior aesthetic.

Powertrain and Competition

No changes under the hood are expected with the Alcazar facelift. It will continue to offer the same engine options as the Creta – a 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine, both compliant with BS6 Stage II emission norms. The transmission options, including manual and automatic gearboxes, are also likely to be retained from the current model.

A slight increase in price could be seen across some variants of the Alcazar facelift, although specifics will become clearer as the launch date approaches. The Hyundai Alcazar competes in a segment alongside the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700.

DriveSpark Thinks

In related news, Hyundai recently celebrated a significant milestone with Creta sales surpassing the 10 lakh mark in India. Additionally, the top spec XUV700 AX7 L has seen a reduction in waiting periods, now down to 2 months, indicating a competitive landscape in the SUV market segment in India.

As Hyundai gears up for the launch of its updated Alcazar, the anticipation grows among SUV enthusiasts in India. The Alcazar facelift aims to bolster Hyundai's presence in the highly competitive SUV segment, offering a blend of premium aesthetics, advanced technology, and reliable performance.
