Hyundai Motor America is gearing up for an impressive showing at the upcoming IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The event, known as the Motul Course de Monterey Powered by Hyundai N, is a pivotal moment for Hyundai, with its drivers holding three of the top five positions in the driver standings. This positions Hyundai for a potential lead in both the Manufacturer's and Driver's Championships. The race, scheduled for Saturday, May 11, will see Hyundai fielding six Elantra N TCRs, with Bryan Herta Autosport's entries No. 76, No. 98, and No. 33 in prime positions to challenge for the lead.

The 2.238-mile, 11-turn road course at Laguna Seca is renowned for its challenging layout, promising an exhilarating race day. Adding to the excitement, Hyundai's new IONIQ 5 N will take on the role of the safety car throughout the race weekend. The event will be broadcast live on Peacock starting at 1:55 p.m. PT, allowing fans to catch all the action as it unfolds.

Beyond the Motul Course de Monterey, Hyundai has its sights set on other prestigious motorsport events, including the Nürburgring 24 Hours and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Representing Hyundai at the Nürburgring will be drivers Mason Filippi, Mark Wilkins, Harry Gottsacker, and another to be announced. Meanwhile, a specially modified IONIQ 5 N is slated to make its debut at Pikes Peak, with Hyundai chronicling the vehicle's build, development, and competition journey in a docuseries titled "Lightning in the Throttle."

In addition to its competitive ambitions, Hyundai is leveraging its participation in the IMPC to support a noble cause through its Hyundai Hope On Wheels program. The initiative pledges $100 for every lap a Hyundai Elantra N TCR leads during any race of the season. To date, this effort has raised $2,100 towards combating childhood cancer.
