HPI Teams Up With SYNETIQ And Audatex For Comprehensive Vehicle Data Expansion

The UK's largest provider of vehicle provenance checks, cap hpi, has announced a major expansion of its data capabilities. The company has partnered with SYNETIQ, an integrated vehicle recycling firm, to access information on salvage total loss vehicles. This collaboration aims to enhance the transparency and comprehensiveness of vehicle history reports for users.

Cap hpi is also integrating data from Audatex, a global risk and asset management data provider. Audatex supports over 2 million vehicle assessments annually and handles 85% of UK insurance claims. This integration will provide HPI Check users with detailed vehicle histories, including incidents and total loss records.

HPI Enhances Vehicle Checks

SYNETIQ, a significant player in the salvage market and part of IAA, is committed to improving industry transparency. The data agreement with cap hpi will ensure that vehicle provenance checks offer a more complete picture of a vehicle's history. SYNETIQ will supply contextual information for vehicles processed through its facilities.

Hugh Leslie, IT director for SYNETIQ, stated: "We continue to invest in pushing standards forward across the industry, and our new data agreement with cap hpi will help to keep consumers and the supply chain informed about the vehicles they buy. Everyone in the industry must play their part to increase transparency and raise standards."

HPI pioneered vehicle checks in 1938, becoming a household name by providing comprehensive reports that protect buyers from scams and fraud. The HPI Check covers cars, motorcycles, vans, HGVs, and motorhomes. According to company data, one in three cars has a hidden history or outstanding finance.

Jon Clay, identification director at cap hpi, commented: "The data agreement with SYNETIQ and the additional integration of Audatex data is part of our ongoing journey to enhance the HPI Check. As technology and data advance, we are able to connect parts of the industry to increase transparency across the sector. We can layer information to provide a richer picture of every vehicle."

Industry Collaboration

The team at cap hpi collaborates with stakeholders such as police and industry bodies to ensure safety for motorists and businesses. Jon Clay added: "It's important to our customers that our data is collected ethically and is reliable, and that's why we are pleased to team up with SYNETIQ on this important milestone."

HPI supports buyers by investigating insurance markets for accuracy. These investigations often uncover cloned vehicles and other issues using well-established industry relationships.
