HORSE And HABAŞ Forge Partnership For Efficient Diesel Powertrains In Turkey
HORSE, a renowned global leader in the field of innovative and low-emission powertrain systems, has recently announced a significant multi-year agreement to supply its advanced diesel engines to HABAŞ, a pioneering Turkish automotive manufacturer. This partnership marks HORSE's first major collaboration with an automotive company outside its existing ownership circle, expanding its footprint following several successful ventures in South American markets.
The collaboration will see HORSE providing its M920 RWD 2.0-litre turbo diesel engines to power HABAŞ's inaugural Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs). These engines are celebrated for their power and efficiency, making them an ideal choice for HABAŞ's new line of vehicles. The production of these LCVs will take place at HABAŞ's new manufacturing facility located in Manisa, Türkiye.
Patrice Haettel, Chief Executive Officer at HORSE, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "The first major agreement with a new automotive manufacturer is a significant milestone for the company and truly highlights our ambition to provide class-leading low emissions powertrains to clients across the globe." He further emphasized HORSE's strategic position to meet HABAŞ's needs through its global presence and facilities in Bursa, Türkiye.
The M920 RWD engine is a testament to HORSE's commitment to innovation and sustainability. With a maximum output of 170PS (125kW) at 3,500rpm and peak torque of 380Nm at just 1,500rpm, the engine ensures superior driveability and fuel efficiency across various loads and road conditions. It incorporates cutting-edge features such as common rail injection at 2,500bar for precise fuel delivery and a variable vane turbine turbocharger for responsive performance at all engine speeds. Furthermore, this engine complies with strict Euro 6d+e full emissions regulations and is designed to utilize B10 diesel with 10% biofuel content, reducing its carbon footprint significantly.
HORSE has established itself as a key player in providing efficient, low-emission engines, transmissions, and technologies worldwide. With eight production plants across seven countries, three R&D centres, and a head office in Madrid, Spain, HORSE boasts an impressive production capacity of 3.2 million units annually for its global clientele.
