Honda Ridgeline Climbs To Seventh In Baja 500 Trophy Truck Category
The Honda Off-Road Racing Team returned to Baja California this weekend, with the Honda Baja Ridgeline driven by Ethan Ebert finishing seventh in the premier Trophy Truck category at the Baja 500. The team started from the rear of the 21-truck field due to not participating in the series-opening San Felipe 250 in March.
Race organiser SCORE required the Ridgeline to start from the back. Starting driver Ethan Ebert steadily worked his way through slower traffic on the dusty and technical opening segments of the 483-mile loop course. Ebert climbed from 27th to 16th by his first pit stop, then gained three more positions before his second stop.
At the 325-mile mark, Richard Glasczak took over from Ebert and continued to gain positions as the course moved to the Pacific coast. The Ridgeline finished seventh in Trophy Truck and 13th overall in the 180+ vehicle field.
Ethan Ebert, starting driver of the Honda Baja Ridgeline Race Truck, commented on this weekend's Baja 500: "The Ridgeline was so strong all day. We had to work our way through some traffic and had some epic battles out there. I can thank our crew for the fast stops and glad we were able to get this finish in another grueling tough Baja 500."
The Honda Off-Road Racing program began in 2015 with a class win in the Baja 1000. Since then, the Honda Baja Ridgeline has recorded 17 class victories in 40 races. For 2024, the Baja Ridgeline has moved up to the premier Trophy Truck category.
