Honda Launches NT1100 Police Motorcycle Tailored For U.S. Law Enforcement Agencies
American Honda has introduced a new motorcycle model, the NT1100 Police, specifically for U.S. law enforcement. This model is derived from the European-market NT1100 sport-touring bike and is available exclusively through the Powersports Fleet/Government Purchase Program. It features a parallel-twin engine from the Africa Twin and includes comfort and safety features like an adjustable windscreen, LED lighting, and electronic rider aids.
The NT1100 Police is equipped with special components tailored for police use. These include pannier bags, an engine guard, a rear bumper, a document box, and a seat cowl. Agencies can further customise their motorcycles with additional parts from approved vendors to suit specific needs. The motorcycle's low weight enhances its maneuverability, making it ideal for police operations.
Colin Miller, Manager of Public Relations at American Honda, stated, "U.S. motorcycle units and motor officers understand the benefits that two-wheel vehicles can offer over automobiles, and we're pleased to provide a brand-new option for their fleets." He highlighted the NT1100 Police's unmatched maneuverability as one of its main advantages.
The NT1100 Police employs the frame and twin-cylinder engine of the CRF1100L Africa Twin. This setup ensures engaging performance while maintaining Honda's reputation for reliability. The motorcycle's light weight contributes to its nimble handling, making it a valuable addition to any law enforcement fleet.
With its lowest-in-class curb weight and attractive pricing at $14,499, the NT1100 Police offers exceptional value. It promises to be popular among U.S. motorcycle units due to its combination of performance features and affordability.
Availability and Distribution
This new model will be available starting in May. American Honda Motor Co., Inc., serves as the sole distributor of Honda motorcycles in the United States. Their Power Sports & Products Division manages sales through independent authorized Honda retail dealers.
