Honda Marine BF350 V8 Outboard Receives Three Prestigious Awards For Innovation And Design
Honda Marine has introduced the Honda BF350, a new high-power outboard engine. This V8 engine, the first of its kind from Honda available commercially, has already earned three industry awards for its innovative technology and design. The BF350 is available through Honda Marine dealers with a starting price of $36,338. It comes with a five-year warranty that remains consistent throughout its duration.
The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and Boating Writers International (BWI) awarded the Honda BF350 V8 the IBEX 2024 Innovation Award for outboard engine technology. This award is considered the highest honour in the industry for technological advancement. The award was presented at the IBEX conference held at the Tampa Convention Center on October 1.
Boating Industry magazine recognised the Honda BF350 V8 as one of its Top Products of 2024. This accolade highlights outstanding products in the marine sector, including boats, engines, and accessories. The selection process involved evaluating hundreds of products launched or updated since January 1, 2023, focusing on innovation and industry impact.
The Red Dot Award for Product Design also honoured the Honda BF350 in 2024. Established in 1955, this award is one of the most prestigious design recognitions globally. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Honda products have received a Red Dot award.
The Honda BF350 V8 motor offers features that appeal to marine enthusiasts seeking extended time on water. It boasts a broader torque curve and smoother power delivery across its operating range. Ergonomically designed controls enhance user experience while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency and reliability.
A unique feature of the BF350 is its fully balanced, 60° offset precision crankshaft. This design eliminates the need for a harmonic balancer, reducing weight and integrating seamlessly with its engine design to minimise vibration during operation.

The engineering excellence of the Honda BF350 includes exclusive technologies such as VTEC® (Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control), BLAST™ (Boosted Low Speed Torque) System, Lean Burn Control™, Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI), Friction Reduction Technology, and Intelligent Shift & Throttle (iST®).
