Honda To Celebrate Powersports Technicians With National Contest

American Honda Motor Co. has announced a National Technician Contest for its Powersports & Products Division, aiming to highlight the skills of Honda Powersports technicians. The competition begins with an online qualification test, followed by the National Finals in Alpharetta, Georgia. This initiative is designed to promote Honda's technical training programs and elevate service standards across dealerships.

The online qualifying test, consisting of 75 multiple-choice questions, is now open to all active Honda Powersports technicians. Participants will be evaluated on their technical knowledge, technique, procedures, precision, and speed. The top eight qualifiers—four from two-wheel and four from four-wheel categories—will earn an all-expenses-paid trip to the National Finals at Honda's Alpharetta Training Center.

Scheduled for January 2025, the National Finals will feature both on-product and off-product competitions. Two National Champions will be crowned, one in each category, with each receiving a prize package worth $8,000. Additionally, National Champions from the next three years will compete for a chance to participate in the Honda Global Technician Contest in Japan in 2027.

Jeremy Merzlak, Director of the Aftersales Experience Division at American Honda, expressed pride in the talent and professionalism of their dealership technicians. "While their skills typically shine away from the public eye, behind the service-shop door, the upcoming Honda National Technician Contest is set to change that and bring them into the spotlight," Merzlak said.

Through this initiative, Honda aims to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty, and dealership profitability.
