Honda HRC Progressive Gears Up For The 2025 AMA Supercross Season With Top Riders

Honda HRC Progressive is gearing up for the 2025 race season, which begins in just over a month. The team aims to maintain its winning streak, having secured five of the last six premier-class titles. Jett Lawrence, the reigning AMA Supercross champion, leads the roster once again. Last season, he clinched the championship in his first attempt on a 450 bike.

Jett Lawrence will compete on the #1 2025 CRF450RWE alongside his brother Hunter Lawrence. At just 21 years old, Jett has already amassed eight professional AMA titles, making him one of the top riders globally. In his rookie year in the premier class, Hunter finished second in both the 450 Pro Motocross and SuperMotocross standings.

The Honda HRC Progressive team is also bringing back key staff members for another season. Lars Lindstrom continues as Team Manager with Grant Hutcheson and Jordan Troxell as crew chiefs for the 450 and 250 classes, respectively. Christien Ducharme and Cameron Camera return as mechanics for Jett and Hunter Lawrence, while Ben Griffith and Thomas Harris will support Jo Shimoda and Chance Hymas.

Jo Shimoda and Chance Hymas will ride the new 2025 CRF250RWE in the quarter-liter program. Shimoda enters his second year with Honda after a consistent 2024 season with regular podium finishes. He made history as the first Japanese rider to win an AMA 250SX main event and overall wins in AMA Pro Motocross and SuperMotocross.

The upcoming AMA Supercross season starts on January 11 in Anaheim, California. It will feature 17 rounds followed by an 11-round AMA Pro Motocross series and a three-round SuperMotocross Championship. The team is eager to see how they perform against their competitors this year.

Chance Hymas will compete in the East Region after recovering from injuries that plagued him last season. He achieved his first AMA Pro Motocross overall win last year and is keen to showcase his talent further. His speed remains impressive from his amateur career days.

Expectations for Success

"The success that Honda HRC Progressive has enjoyed over the past couple of years has been impressive, but we're always striving to do even better," said Brandon Wilson, Manager of Racing & Advertising at American Honda. "Fortunately, we're able to keep together an incredible lineup of riders, and we have two very capable race bikes, plus a great group of sponsors that are always behind us."

Lars Lindstrom expressed excitement about the team's progress: "The 2024 season was unbelievable...Our crew has worked super-hard with all four of our riders to get our new bikes dialed in for the opener." The team anticipates another successful year following their achievements last season.

The Lawrence brothers are among favourites for victories this year after helping Team Australia win the Motocross of Nations trophy in 2024. Their performance has set high expectations for more wins and titles in 2025.
