Honda Cars India Rolls Out Enhanced Safety Features Across Models: City & Elevate Gets 6 Airbags As Standard

Honda Cars India has recently made some notable updates across its car range, enhancing safety features for the City, City e:HEV, Elevate, and Amaze models. In a move to boost passenger protection, the City and Elevate now come standard with 6 airbags and 3-point ELR seat belts for all seats.

Additionally, a seat belt reminder feature has been added for every seat. These updates extend beyond safety enhancements. The Elevate, for instance, now boasts adjustable head restraints for all passengers, a vanity mirror for both driver and co-driver and a modern digi-analogue instrument cluster, complete with a 7-inch TFT display.

The City model has also seen its features list expanded, with the base SV variant receiving a new 4.2-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster. The VX trim gets an upgrade with an 8-speaker premium sound system and a rear sunshade. This addition of features has led to a price increase for both the Elevate and City models.

The price for the Elevate now ranges from Rs 11.91-16.43 lakh (ex-showroom), marking a slight increase from its previous tags. Similarly, the base price of the City has seen a rise to Rs 12.08 lakh from Rs 11.82 lakh (ex-showroom), with the top-end variant now costing Rs 16.35 lakh (ex-showroom), up by Rs 5,000.

The Amaze and City e:HEV have not been left out of the update cycle. Both models now feature seat belt reminders for all seats as a standard offering. The Amaze has seen the discontinuation of its entry-level E variant, and it's now available from Rs 7.93-9.86 lakh (ex-showroom). The City e:HEV simplifies its lineup with a single, fully-loaded ZX variant priced at Rs 20.55 lakh (ex-showroom).

Despite these updates, there have been no changes to the mechanical specs of the four models. The City and Elevate are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering 121bhp and 145Nm. The City Hybrid employs a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine, producing a combined 126bhp.
