Honda Amaze Base Variant Axed – Available In Just Two Trims
Honda has recently made significant updates to its car lineup, enhancing safety features across several models. However, these updates have led to the Amaze model losing two of its variants, the E and Elite Edition. This move simplifies the Amaze's offering to just the S and VX variants.
The changes have also influenced the pricing structure. Both the S and VX variants of the Amaze have seen a price increase of Rs 5,500. This adjustment comes ahead of the anticipated debut of the next-generation Honda Amaze, which is set to make its appearance by Diwali this year.

The Amaze Elite Edition, introduced during the last festive season and based on the high-end VX variant, has been discontinued. It featured exclusive add-ons like a rear spoiler and an illuminated sidestep but was likely a limited-run edition.
The discontinuation of the entry-level E variant, previously priced at Rs 7.20 lakh, marks a further reduction in the Amaze lineup. This variant was less popular among fleet operators, primarily due to the lack of a factory-fitted CNG kit, which rivals like Hyundai Aura, Maruti Dzire, and Tata Tigor offer.

With these changes, the Amaze is now available in only two variants - S and VX. The manual S variant is priced at Rs 7.93 lakh, while the VX comes in at Rs 9.04 lakh. For those interested in CVT options, the S CVT is priced at Rs 8.83 lakh, and the top-end VX CVT at Rs 9.86 lakh.
Looking forward, Honda is preparing to launch the third generation of the Amaze in India, expected around Diwali 2024. Sources indicate that this new version will share a platform with the City and Elevate but will feature a shorter wheelbase.

The design is said to draw inspiration from larger Honda sedans available internationally, with significant upgrades planned for the cabin as well. This next-gen model aims to offer buyers an enhanced driving experience with a modern touch.
Thoughts About Changes Made To The Honda Amaze Line-Up
These updates and changes in Honda's lineup reflect the company's ongoing efforts to refine its offerings and meet the evolving needs of its customers in India. With enhanced safety features now standard across key models and a new generation of the Amaze on the horizon, Honda is looking to maintain its competitive edge in the market.
