Mercedes-AMG Begins Testing All-Electric SUV And Four-Door Coupe In Cold Weather Conditions
The first prototypes of the high-performance Mercedes-AMG SUV, which will be the second vehicle built on the new all-electric AMG.EA architecture, have begun cold weather testing. This marks a significant step in its development, involving tests at both specialist facilities and public roads. Winter testing in northern Sweden is the initial phase, where the four-door coupe also started its testing season earlier this year.
At temperatures well below freezing, the interaction of all components is thoroughly tested. The new SUV also showcases the pioneering role of the high-performance drive in the innovative new all-electric architecture. This includes the use of axial flux motors and a new high-performance battery concept.
The high-performance SUV, announced just weeks ago, will undergo rigorous tests near the Arctic Circle. These demanding conditions are crucial for assessing vehicle performance in extreme cold. The tests ensure that all components function seamlessly under harsh weather conditions.
