Goodwood Revival: A Pioneering Sustainable Fuel Historic Racing Event
The Goodwood Revival, the premier historic motor race meeting, is set for this weekend from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 September. This year marks a significant milestone as it becomes the first historic motor racing event to use sustainable fuel for all races. The event will honour John Surtees, feature over 100 beach buggies in the opening parade, commemorate D-Day's 80th anniversary with military machines, and officially open the Tyrrell Shed.
The Revival continues to promote its Revive & Thrive ethos through workshops and demonstrations focused on heritage skills. TV personalities Dominic Chinea and Micaela Sharp will share techniques on reducing, reusing, repairing, restoring, and recycling. The new fashion hub will host the Best Dressed competition and fashion shows with special guests like model David Gandy, Great British Sewing Bee judge Patrick Grant, designer Zandra Rhodes, vintage icon Dita von Teese, and style activist Dandy Wellington.
Friday's highlights include the Beach Buggy Track Opening Parade followed by the unveiling of the new electric Meyers Manx. The Best Dressed competition will feature guest judges Dita Von Teese, Lisa Eldridge, and Chandler Tregaskes. Scott Wimsett will meet style icon David Gandy. On Saturday, Patrick Grant will judge the Best Dressed competition while Bonhams|Cars hosts an auction. The Settrington Cup pedal car race also takes place.
Sunday features a D-Day Parade and the official opening of the Tyrrell Shed. The Settrington Cup pedal car race continues alongside the Best Dressed competition judged by Paula Sutton and Zandra Rhodes. Dandy Wellington will meet Dita Von Teese while Paula Sutton meets actor Ruth Gemmell (Lady Bridgerton) and period costume experts Dougie Hawkes and Hattie McGill from Bridgerton, Wicked, and Captain America.
Freddie March Spirit of Aviation
The Freddie March Spirit of Aviation presented by Bonhams|Cars winner will be announced on Sunday. The blue riband race of the event is the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration.
