Goodwood Revival 2024 Unites Motorsport Legends For Sustainable Racing
The Goodwood Revival is set to host an array of championship-winning drivers and riders. Notable participants include 23-time Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinness MBE, nine-time Le Mans victor Tom Kristensen, seven-time NASCAR Champion Jimmie Johnson, and four-time IndyCar Champion Dario Franchitti. This year's event will take place from Friday, 6 September to Sunday, 8 September.
From the world of Formula 1, the event will welcome two World Champions: Sir Jackie Stewart and Jacques Villeneuve. They will be joined by former F1 drivers David Brabham, Derek Bell, Jochen Mass, Karun Chandhok, Max Chilton, and two-time Formula E Champion Jean-Éric Vergne. These drivers will race on sustainable fuels as part of Goodwood Revival's commitment to eco-friendly motorsport.
Endurance racing icons with a combined total of 29 Le Mans wins will also participate. This group includes World Endurance Champion André Lotterer, Darren Turner, Emanuele Pirro, Rinaldo Capello, Marcel Fässler, Neel Jani, Romain Dumas, and Tom Kristensen. Kristensen competed in the first sustainably-fuelled race at the Revival in 2023 and is now the House Captain for Darnley.
The event will feature acclaimed riders from various championships such as British Superbike Championship, Isle of Man TT, MotoGP, Suzuka 8 Hours, and World Superbike Championship. Riders like Bradley Smith, Carlos Checa (making his debut), Jeremy McWilliams, Leon Haslam, Tommy Bridewell, and Tommy Hill will compete. Five Isle of Man TT winners with a total of 38 wins between them will also join: Davey Todd, James Hillier, John McGuinness MBE (23 wins), Lee Johnston, and Michael Rutter.
Touring Car Racing Stars
Touring car racing will be represented by champions from the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) and World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). BTCC champions Andrew Jordan, Colin Turkington, Gordon Shedden (new Metheun House Captain), Matt Neal and current leader Tom Ingram will race alongside WTCC champions Andy Priaulx (new Aubigny House Captain) and Rob Huff.
Dario Franchitti will also compete as the new Torbolton House Captain at the Members’ Meeting. Other notable participants include Giacomo Agostini with 15 World Championships and ten Isle of Man TT wins.
Sustainable Racing Initiative
Goodwood Revival continues to champion sustainability by using alternative fuels for all races. This initiative marks a significant moment in motorsport history as it becomes the first historic motorsport event to exclusively use sustainable fuels.
