Genesis Unveils Redesigned 2026 GV70 And Electrified GV70 SUVs Ahead Of North American Launch
Genesis has introduced the redesigned 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 SUVs at an event in Los Angeles. These models, produced in Montgomery, Alabama, and Ulsan, Korea, will be available in North America by mid-2025. The company also announced the opening of four new retail facilities, increasing its total to 60 locations within three years.
The 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 feature a bold exterior design with intricate details. The GV70's front includes a revamped G-Matrix Crest Grille and multi-lens array headlamps. The Electrified version has a tailored grille for electric vehicles and a redesigned charge port. Both models have two-line headlamps with micro lens array technology, offering a blend of advanced tech and elegance.
The interiors reflect Genesis' Korean-inspired "Beauty of White Space" design principle. A new 27-inch OLED display integrates the cluster and infotainment system into one expansive layout. The GV70 offers ten exterior colours, including Ceres Blue, inspired by the dwarf planet between Mars and Jupiter. Four Nappa leather options are available, led by Ultramarine Blue.
Numerous convenience features enhance the driving experience in both models. Improved voice recognition allows easy control of vehicle functions like HVAC settings and window positions. Over-the-Air updates ensure the latest features are available. Digital Key enables seamless vehicle access and management, while Smart Key extends to the second row for easier access.
The 2026 model introduces Terrain Mode for optimized driving in snow, mud, or sand conditions. Advanced driver assistance features include Hands-On Detection on the steering wheel, improved Lane Following Assist, and upgraded Remote Smart Parking Assist with diagonal parking capabilities.
Powertrain Options
The GV70 offers two powertrain choices: a 2.5L inline 4 turbo engine with 300 horsepower and a 3.5L V6 twin-turbo engine producing 375 horsepower. Comfort is enhanced through Highway Body Motion Control that adjusts dampening forces during acceleration or deceleration. Road Preview uses cameras to read road surfaces for optimal comfort.
Electrified GV70 Features
The Electrified GV70 includes a new charge port with an electric motor for easy access. A heating element aids charging in cold weather, while added lighting helps in dark environments like parking garages. It comes standard with a North American Charging Standard port and CCS adapter for access to over 36,000 fast chargers nationwide.
This model also features an 84kWh high-capacity battery offering more range for greater flexibility.
Retail Network Expansion
Genesis continues expanding its retail network to meet growing demand for the GV70 in North America. Recently opened locations include Washington State's first facility and Minnesota's first location, along with new sites in Florida and New York.
{TABLE_X}In Canada, Genesis has sold over 10,673 vehicles since launching the GV70 in 2021. With year-over-year growth, there are now 30 distributors across Canada offering an elevated purchase experience.
The redesigned models will reach retailers by mid-2025 with more details forthcoming closer to launch.
