Nonprofit Takes Helm At Laguna Seca Raceway With Long-Term Plan
Friends of Laguna Seca has met all the requirements set by the concession agreement with Monterey County. This achievement allows them to officially manage the Laguna Seca Raceway and Recreation Area. The non-profit organisation begins its 55-year operational plan today, aiming to restore and revitalise the facility.
"The Friends team has been squarely focused on reaching this important milestone and providing a smooth transition of operations," said Friends CEO Lauri Eberhart. "This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our volunteer board of directors, passionate donors, and the entire staff at WeatherTech® Raceway at Laguna Seca. We now begin the next chapter in the amazing future of this iconic facility for the benefit of our local community and the motorsports world."
Moving forward, Friends will work closely with Laguna Seca Raceway’s staff, volunteers, A&D Narigi, and Monterey County. Their goal is to ensure long-term growth while maintaining a strong tradition of volunteerism and community involvement.
The non-profit's mission is to provide leadership and resources necessary for the facility's transformation. They aim to enhance both its historical significance and community engagement.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony and press conference are scheduled at WeatherTech Raceway on August 15 at noon. More details will be provided soon.
