Second place went to Alec Robbins, also from the USA, driving a Robbins Race Co Nissan 350Z. Robert Thorne secured third place with his ASM E46 BMW M3. The weather was sunny and hot with a light breeze during the K&N PRO Seeding Bracket.

The top eight finishers from the Seeding Bracket advanced to Saturday’s competition heats. Positions 25-32 were determined by competitive tandem runs. Several drivers were absent for the first Seeding Bracket heats, giving bye runs to Daniel Stuke, Derek Madison, Robert Thorne, and Federico Sceriffo.

Among those unable to start was reigning Formula DRIFT PROSPEC Champ Ben Hobson. He retired after hitting his head during a practice run, adding to his frustrating season. Given the number of "no shows," only Rudy Hansen, Dmitriy Brutskiy, and Andy Hateley were eliminated from the Seeding Bracket.

Mike Power qualified 25th for the Top 32 competition heats and will face rookie sensation Conor Shanahan from Ireland. Alec Robbins will go heads-up against hometown hero Dylan Hughes in the Top 32 after losing to Power due to small mistakes in their final battle.

In a battle of BMWs, Robert Thorne will meet Adam LZ in the Top 32 heats. Adam LZ is set for a comeback after destroying his LZMFG E36 BMW in the previous round but managed to build a new car in record time using a new E36 bodyshell.
