Ford's Comeback In India: Endeavour & Mustang Mach-E Set For Launch
Ford is all set to re-enter the Indian market by 2025, with plans to introduce the next-gen Forf Endeavour SUV and the electric Mustang Mach-E as Completely Built-Up (CBU) units.
This decision comes after Ford halted local sales in India in late 2021. Despite the unforeseen exit, the brand's future in India looks promising, with new job recruitments hinting at its comeback.
Ford's Strategic Move for Indian Market
After the cessation of a potential deal with the JSW Group for its Chennai plant, Ford has been actively seeking ways to make a comeback. The recent application for a design patent of the latest Endeavour, which is already making waves in international markets.
The Anticipated Line-up
The next-gen Ford Endeavour is slated to be the first offering in 2025, with possibilities of local production following its launch. The Mustang Mach-E, Ford's electric marvel, is also on the cards for the Indian market.
Known for its impressive performance figures, the upcoming Forf Mach-E is available in global markets with 72 kWh and 91 kWh battery options, along with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.
The base model boasts 269bhp and 430Nm torque, while the larger battery variant offers 294bhp and 530Nm. A top-spec GT AWD model, delivering a staggering 487bhp and 850Nm, is expected to be a crowd-pleaser, thanks to its 489km range on a single charge.
Competition and Pricing
The entry of Ford's Mustang Mach-E into the Indian market sets the stage for an electrifying competition among luxury electric vehicles. With its advanced features and impressive performance, the Mach-E is poised to rival the likes of the Audi Q8 e-tron and Mercedes EQE. Prices are expected to start upwards of Rs 1 crore.
