2024 Force Gurkha Launched At Rs 16.75 Lakh - Hardcore SUV Arrives With More Oomph
Indian SUV manufacturer Force Motors has launched the 2024 Gurkha in India. The 3-door 2024 Force Gurkha is priced at Rs 16.75 lakhs while the new 5-door variant costs Rs 18 lakhs (ex-showroom). Deliveries start later this month.
The new 2024 Force Gurkha sees the SUV being offered in both three and five-door guises for the very first time. The newer option is the five-door variant of the Gurkha which adds a new door on each side of the SUV and is offered as a 7 seater.
The 3-door 2024 Gurkha, which is still offered as a four-seater (2 rows of captain seats) measures 3,965mm long, 1,865mm wide and 2,080mm tall with a 2,400mm long wheelbase.
The new 5-door Gurkha is 425mm longer and 25mm taller than its three-door sibling at 4,390mm long, 1,865mm wide and 2,095mm tall with a 2,825mm long wheelbase. The five-door variant sports captain seats for the first and third rows while the second row sports a 3-seater bench seat.
To help power the new Gurkha, Force Motors has tweaked the turbocharged 2.6-litre Mercedes-sourced OM-616 diesel engine so that it now produces 138bhp and 320Nm of peak torque.
The updated engine produces 49bhp and 70Nm more than its predecessor but is still paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox that sends power to all four wheels thanks to four-wheel drive and an electric low-range transfer box that can switch modes on the fly through a dial-style interface.
Inside, the new Gurkha is a more easy-to-live SUV thanks to a new 9-inch infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The new Gurkha also sports a new digital driver's display.
The Gurkha has also updated its safety suite and it now features two airbags as standard along with ABS and EBD and also gets a TPMS system that is connected to the driver's display. The new Gurkha's all-metal body is frontal crash-compliant.

The 2024 Force Gurkha has sprouted a new set of doors as it arrives in both three and 5-seater guises since it was first revealed back in 2008. And while that price tag may seem on the slightly higher side, the off-roading ability of the new Gurkha is something its fans will be more than willing to put money down for.
