Force Gurkha Deliveries Commence: Here Are Top Things You Should Know
Force Motors launched the 2024 Gurkha lineup to capture more market share in India's adventure SUV segment. This move has allowed Force Motors to have a headstart as the 5-door version of the Mahindra Thar SUV is yet to be launched in India. Furthermore, deliveries of the Gurkha SUV have already commenced, and the first set of customers have received their new SUVs.
Price
Prices start at Rs 16.75 lakh (Ex-showroom) for the 3-door model and Rs 18 lakh (Ex-showroom) for the 5-door iteration of the Gurkha SUV. While the starting price might be steep now, Force Motors is expected to soon launch a RWD variant of the Gurkha with a much more aggressive price tag.
Design Highlights
The 2024 Force Gurkha is well-equipped to compete with vehicles like the Mahindra Thar and Maruti Suzuki Jimny. It features a Mercedes-Benz G-Class-inspired design, round LED headlights, LED DRLs, and fender-mounted LED turn indicators. Additional features include fog lights with cornering function, a functional roof rack, snorkel, and ladder, side-step, 18-inch alloy wheels, and chunky 255-section tyres.
Interior
Inside, the 2024 Gurkha has a 9-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully digital TFT instrument screen with TPMS readout, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. Other features include a tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, and the 5-Door version includes third-row seating with captain seats.
Powertrain
The powertrain of the 2024 Gurkha is an improvement over previous models. It retains the FM 2.6 CR turbo diesel unit, but now it's tuned to generate 140bhp and 320Nm, compared to the previous 95bhp and 250Nm.
This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and features a start/stop function. Additionally, it includes an electronic shift-on-the-fly 4X4 transfer case and front and rear locking differentials.
