Force Gurkha 5-Door Teaser Out – Looks Rugged & Proportionate
The upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door is among the most awaited SUVs in the country. Now, the company has released a new teaser video of the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door SUV, revealing more visual details about the model.
Starting with the overall design, the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door SUV looks a lot more proportionate than the outgoing 3-door version of the model. Also, the model continues to come equipped with plenty of modern touches.
These modern touches on the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door include LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, 18-inch Diamond-cut alloy wheels and a few other design elements. The model also flaunts the 'Gurkha' branding on the front grille.
Despite the modern touches, the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door SUV remains a rugged SUV with off-road and utility bits like a factory-fitted snorkel, a robust roof rack, and a rear door-mounted spare tyre.
While the interior of the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door is yet to be officially revealed, plenty of test mules have sported a variety of seating configurations. Out of which, the model with captain seats on all three rows to be a popular choice among urban buyers.
Apart from this, the variant with two captain seats at the front, and bench seats in the second and third rows to be more popular among buyers in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. A 9-seater configuration model has also been spotted with side-facing jump seats on the third row.
On the inside, the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door SUV is likely to sport no new changes apart from the additional row of seating and door-mounted power windows for the second-row passengers.
Other noticeable features that are likely to be part of the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door SUV include a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, part digital instrument console with an analogue speedometer and a tachometer, an individual armrest, speed-sensing door locks, power windows, and central locking.
We expect the upcoming 5-door version of the Force Gurkha SUV to be powered by the same engine that powers the 3-door version of the Force Gurkha SUV. This means the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door SUV is likely to be powered by the tried-and-tested, 2.6-litre Mercedes-derived common rail, direct-injection, turbocharged diesel engine.
This BS6 phase 2 compliant engine produces 91bhp and 250Nm of peak torque in the outgoing version of the Force Gurkha. Moreover, this powertrain comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with a low-ratio gearbox.
To further enhance the off-road ability of the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door SUV, the model is also likely to sport differential locks at both front and rear axles. Also, we expect the 5-door version of the Force Gurkha to be priced at least Rs 1 lakh more expensive.
