The Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey, held from June 21-23, 2024, was a major success, drawing thousands of racing fans to the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The event saw a 9% increase in ticket sales compared to 2023, with a total attendance of 40,000. Friday's attendance was notably high due to the summer break and Mission Foods' free ticket offer through local grocery stores.

Adding to the excitement, the event featured various entertainment options. Saturday night included a country concert by George Birge at the podium stage. On Sunday, The Rock Band from the 191st Army Band out of Dublin, California performed at the Hagerty Marketplace. INDY NXT Series

In the INDY NXT series, Louis Foster dominated with his fourth victory in five races. "Andretti has given us an amazing car," Foster said after his victories. "I’m just out there doing my thing. It’s been a great weekend."

Volunteer Efforts

The success of the event was largely due to dedicated volunteers and local service clubs who managed various tasks such as running Go-Karts and directing traffic. Their efforts ensured a seamless experience for all attendees and highlighted strong community support for this iconic venue.

The campgrounds were lively with over 350 reserved campsites as visitors enjoyed one of the first hot summer days in weeks while nights remained cool under a marine layer.
