Ferrari Purosangue Secures Coveted Compasso D’Oro Award In 2024
The Ferrari Purosangue, the first four-door car from the Prancing Horse, has secured the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award. This accolade, one of the most coveted in industrial design, was presented in Milan on 20 June 2024. Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari's Chief Design Officer, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
Established in 1954 by the ADI (Italian Association for Industrial Design), the Compasso d’Oro is awarded biennially. The selection process is overseen by ADI’s Permanent Design Observatory, which includes experts, designers, critics, historians, and specialised journalists. The Purosangue is the fourth Ferrari to receive this honour. Previous winners include the F12berlinetta in 2014, the FXX K in 2016, and the Monza SP1 in 2020.
The ADI jurors selected the Purosangue for its fusion of technology and innovative design. They praised it for going beyond conventional Gran Turismo categories and representing a significant advancement in a competitive global market. The Purosangue’s modern architecture offers versatility, combining comfort with Ferrari’s signature performance.
Design and Performance
The name Purosangue, meaning thoroughbred, aptly describes its architecture. Its sleek and athletic exterior distinguishes it from other four-door cars. Inside, it offers a luxuriously roomy cabin designed for exceptional comfort for all four occupants. This model is not only fast and agile but also Ferrari’s first full four-seater.
