Evice Unveils Electric Reimagining of Classic Rolls-Royce and Bentley Models
Surrey, UK, 18 June 2024 - Evice, a British company founded in 2023 by Matthew Pearson, Charlie Metcalfe, and Will Burdett, is on a mission to create the definitive electric versions of iconic classic cars. The company has embarked on a two-year development programme to restore and modernise classic models from Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
The first prototype, R001 – a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow – is currently undergoing static testing. Road testing is scheduled to begin this Autumn. The development includes an in-house 800V electrical architecture, which aims to deliver a seamless integration of modern technology with classic design.
The initial portfolio includes the Rolls-Royce Corniche and Bentley T-Series alongside the Silver Shadow. Evice is meticulously reimagining each model from the ground up, ensuring every detail is carefully considered, tested, and refined. The first commissioned model is set for delivery in Spring 2026.
Technological Advancements
Evice's Co-Founder and CEO, Matthew Pearson, stated, "The original Roll-Royce and Bentley models were the epitome of style, elegance and refinement. By integrating smooth, silent 800V electric power, we are elevating these classics to new heights." The new 400hp powertrain will offer a range exceeding 200 miles, thanks to a 77kWh battery.
Enhanced Features
Each model will feature active suspension and an upgraded braking system for improved dynamic composure. Modern amenities such as heated and ventilated seats, full climate control air-conditioning, and an upgraded audio system with an additional sub-woofer are standard. Infotainment screens supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and reversing cameras are discreetly incorporated.
Customer-Centric Approach
Evice offers a curated and collaborative customer journey. Each commission is tailored to the owner's vision of perfection, with every stitch, hue, and feature customised to exact specifications. This bespoke program ensures that no request goes unexplored.
Future-Proofing Classics
The company's in-house-developed 800-volt electrical system aims to future-proof these classic models for maximum efficiency and reduced charging times. Supported by a sophisticated thermal management system, this technology allows for lighter and more compact packaging solutions.
Testing and Development
Six months into the development programme, R001 is being rigorously tested for durability and reliability. All safety-critical systems are undergoing testing ahead of road trials this Autumn. In-house software and hardware are transitioning from design to manufacture for installation.
