Electrify Canada Expands Charging Network With New Stations In Nova Scotia And Québec

Electrify Canada is expanding its network by introducing new charging stations in Nova Scotia and further increasing its presence in Québec. This expansion includes over 40 Hyper-Fast chargers, capable of speeds up to 350 kW, located along popular travel routes and near shopping and dining areas. The initiative aims to support the growing adoption of electric vehicles across Canada.

The expansion in Québec involves five new stations in Greenfield Park, Mont-Tremblant, Laval, Québec City, and St-Hyacinthe. These join existing locations in Drummondville, Mirabel, Repentigny, Sherbrooke, St-Romuald, and Trois-Rivières. Notably, Greenfield Park and Laval will feature the network’s first eight-charger stations as part of this growth.

Electrify Canada Expands to Nova Scotia and Québec

Electrify Canada has also established a presence in Nova Scotia with new stations in Amherst and Bedford. These locations are strategically placed near the New Brunswick border and close to Halifax to facilitate interprovincial travel. This marks Electrify Canada's entry into its seventh province.

The Honourable Steven Guilbeault commented on the initiative: "Every year, hundreds of thousands of Canadians are saving by switching from paying at the gas pump to driving electric vehicles - and they are right to expect affordable, reliable, and accessible charging options wherever they go. We are pleased to be working with Electrify Canada to deliver dozens of new hyper-fast charging stations for drivers across Quebec, Nova Scotia, and beyond."

Government Support for EV Infrastructure

The charging stations in both provinces receive partial funding from Natural Resources Canada's ZEVIP program. Lena Metlege Diab stated: "We’re making electric vehicles more affordable and charging more available where Canadians live, work, travel, and play. Investing in more EV chargers...will put more Canadians in the driver’s seat on the road to a net-zero future and help achieve our climate goals."

Electrify Canada has recently opened additional stations in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Saskatchewan. This expansion is part of their effort to create a comprehensive DC fast-charging network for Canadian EV drivers.

User-Friendly Charging Experience

The Electrify Canada network offers a seamless charging experience with Plug&Charge technology for compatible vehicles. Users can manage sessions through a mobile app that allows contactless payment or use credit cards at the station.

Scott Hollinshead expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Canadian Tire: "We are thrilled to collaborate with Canadian Tire to bring more Hyper-Fast charging to locals...These new stations almost double our presence in Québec and introduce Electrify Canada to Nova Scotia."

Established in July 2018, Electrify Canada's mission is to promote Zero-Emission Vehicle adoption by building an open DC fast-charging network across Canada. They aim to provide speed and reliability for those transitioning to electric vehicles.
