Electrify America Expands Charging Collaboration For New Macan Electric Owners With Complimentary Sessions
Electrify America and Porsche Cars North America have expanded their charging agreement to include the new Macan Electric. Owners of this vehicle will enjoy one year of complimentary 30-minute charging sessions at over 970 Electrify America stations across the country. This initiative aims to enhance the electric vehicle experience for Macan Electric owners by providing convenient and fast charging options.
The Macan Electric is a recent addition to Porsche's lineup, featuring an 800-volt architecture that supports a potential charging speed of 270 kW under optimal conditions. This makes it one of the fastest in the industry. "The Macan Electric is perfectly complemented by our Hyper-Fast charging network delivering speeds of up to 350 kW," stated Robert Barrosa, president and CEO of Electrify America.
Macan Electric owners can activate their complimentary charging benefit during the Porsche Charging Service process. They have one year from purchase to use these sessions. The Plug&Charge feature allows drivers to simply plug in and start charging without hassle, enhancing convenience and saving time. Alternatively, they can use the My Porsche app for initiating charges.
To locate nearby stations, verify charger availability, and navigate to them, drivers can use either the app or in-vehicle navigation systems. "We are excited to extend our collaboration with Electrify America and offer our customers the convenience of 30-minute charging sessions for the all-new Macan," said Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America.
Electrify America operates over 970 stations with more than 4,350 chargers across North America. It is the first open DC fast-charging network offering Plug&Charge technology for compatible vehicles. The company is investing over $2 billion in Zero Emission Vehicle infrastructure to support electric driving adoption nationwide.
