Electrify America Opens Its 1000th Charging Station With 20 Hyper-Fast Chargers In San Diego
Electrify America has launched a new large-scale charging station at Simon's Fashion Valley in San Diego, California. This facility features 20 Hyper-Fast chargers, each capable of delivering speeds up to 350 kilowatts (kW). The station is strategically located near various shopping and dining venues, aligning with Electrify America's strategy to address current and future demand by establishing larger stations.
The Fashion Valley station is Electrify America's 1,000th in North America. It offers 20 Hyper-Fast chargers on Level P2 of Parking Structure D and three more near Parking Structure E. The site provides 24/7 access, on-site security, and proximity to over 200 stores and diverse dining options.
In 2023, Electrify America doubled its customer charging sessions, delivering over 10 million sessions and dispensing around 380 gigawatt hours of energy. To support the growing electric vehicle community, the company aims to have 5,000 Hyper-Fast public and commercial chargers operational or under construction by the end of 2024.
Robert Barrosa, CEO of Electrify America, stated, "Our 1000th charging station marks a significant milestone for Electrify America and reinforces our commitment to convenient EV charging." He highlighted the rapid development of their network across 47 states and seven Canadian provinces within just over six years.
Daniel Segal from Simon Property Group commented on the collaboration: "Simon currently has more than 85 Electrify America charging stations at our properties across the U.S., providing a high-value amenity for our shoppers and the surrounding community." He emphasized that having these chargers enhances Fashion Valley's appeal as a comprehensive destination.
The new station complements an existing one at Fashion Valley, increasing the total number of Hyper-Fast chargers there to 23. Visitors can use the Electrify America mobile app to monitor their charging sessions and receive notifications when their session ends.

Electrify America's network supports Plug&Charge technology. This feature allows eligible EV drivers to start a charging session simply by plugging in their vehicle without needing a wallet or smartphone. Users must enroll in their vehicle's Electrify America Premium Offer to access this seamless service.
