'Edith: Volcano Ascent' Triumphs As Best Documentary Feature At The 2024 International Motor Film Awards
An independent documentary has triumphed in a fiercely contested category, winning the 'Best Documentary Feature' at the 2024 International Motor Film Awards. "Edith: Volcano Ascent," a 50-minute film by TangentVector, captures the arduous four-year journey of a team attempting to drive a specially modified Porsche 911, named Edith, to the summit of Ojos del Salado in Chile, the world's highest volcano.
The project faced numerous challenges, with success only achieved after two unsuccessful attempts. J.F. Musial and Will Barber from TangentVector, along with videographer Niko Myyrä, accepted the award at Alexandra Palace in London. Both Will and Niko experienced firsthand the extreme highs and lows of this record-breaking endeavor that had eluded many before.

J.F. Musial expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, "It’s wonderful to receive an award for a project that’s meant so much to all of us." He highlighted how the focus shifted from just the car and record to capturing the spirit and culture within their team and Porsche itself. The documentary showcases a small team's dedication and passion, marking one of their proudest achievements.
"Edith: Volcano Ascent" premiered during Monterey Car Week in August. Discussions are underway for its release on a streaming platform, with more information expected soon. The film offers an insight into this remarkable adventure and includes a teaser available online.
