Easter Jeep Safari – 4 New Concepts Hit The Trail
Jeep is making its annual trek to the 58th annual Easter Jeep Safari, in Moab, Utah, between March 23 and 31 with four new concept vehicles - Jeep Low Down Concept, Jeep Willys Dispatcher Concept, Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept, and Jeep Vacationeer Concept.
Jeep Low Down Concept
The Jeep Low Down concept pays homage to the Lower 40, which was introduced at the 43rd annual Easter Jeep Safari. This concept features huge 42-inch BFGoodrich Krawler 42x14.5R20 mud-terrain tyres mounted on 20-inch beadlock wheels.
To accommodate such huge tyres, the model comes with custom high-clearance carbon fender flares. However, the stock Wrangler Rubicon 392 suspension remains intact, but Dana 60 axles with 5.38 gears replace the standard Dana 44 axles with 4:10 gears.
The Jeep Low Down is powered by a 6.4-litre, 392 V8 engine with 468.5bhp. This engine in the Jeep Low Down Concept comes mated to an eight-speed automatic. Highlights include Poison Apple Red paint, a custom carbon hood with a see-through power dome and a bespoke race-style fuel filler door.
Jeep Willys Dispatcher Concept
The Jeep Willys Dispatcher is a Wrangler 4xe-based concept. With its electrified 4X4 system, the Jeep Willys Dispatcher concept gives a sneak peek into the future of off-road SUVs while maintaining Jeep's rugged, utilitarian looks.
The Jeep Willys Dispatcher Concept features Super Traxion 36-inch tyres that come wrapped with vintage-style 16-by-7-inch alloy "steelies." Highlights include a custom old-school front bumper, Element 115 Green shade, and classic-looking 8274 Warn winch, featuring a Warn Epic Series winch hook and D rings.
Powering the Willys Dispatcher Concept is an award-winning 2.0-litre, plug-in hybrid, 4xe powertrain that is good for 369.8bhp horsepower and 637Nm. Also, the model uses an eight-speed automatic gearbox with Dana 50 Advantech front and rear axles with 4.70 gears.
Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept
The Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top concept rides high on massive new 40x13.5R18 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tyres mounted on 18-by-9-inch Satin Black KMC Grenade Crawl beadlock wheels.
The model comes with flat fender flares at all four corners providing plenty of off-road ride clearance. Mechanical highlights include Unstoppable Dana 60 front and rear axles with matching 5.38:1 gearing and an AccuAir adjustable air suspension.
The Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top concept is powered by a 3.6-liter, Pentastar V-6 engine. Furthermore, this engine comes mated to a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for delivering a broad torque band with a focus on low-end torque.
Jeep Vacationeer Concept
The Jeep Vacationeer concept captures the nostalgia with its unique bodyside woodgrain graphics that is reminiscent of Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models between the 1960s and 1990s.
The Jeep Vacationeer concept sports 35-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires, wrapped around 18-by-9-inch bead grip 701 Method racing wheels. Furthermore, the larger wheel openings and custom bodyside flare extensions add to aggression. Highlights include carbon-fibre RedTail Overland Skyloft, weatherproof, pass-thru entrance, a Rhino-lined roof, and three 11-inch TYRI LED lights.
Powering the Jeep Vacationeer concept is a 3.0-litre, Hurricane Twin Turbo 510 engine with 503bhp and 678Nm of torque. This makes sure the model has enough grunt to take its occupants across a wide range of terrains without struggling too much.
