Drive Toward a Cure® is set to host an Appalachian Autumn driving tour from October 10-13, 2024. Deb Pollack, founder of Drive Toward a Cure®, expressed gratitude for the support from the automotive community in raising awareness for Parkinson's disease. "Our biggest inspiration came from the friendships we've formed with legends of motorsports who happen to also be champions of Parkinson’s – beginning with F1 Champion Phil Hill and leading up to Sam Posey," she said.

The Northeast Adventure will explore New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Vermont during peak autumn. Participants can enhance their driving skills with limited spots available for the Land Rover Experience. The all-inclusive entry fee covers one car, two guests, meals, luxury accommodations, and a tax receipt as part of the fees benefit Parkinson’s disease research.

Since its inception in 2016, Drive Toward a Cure® has raised over $1 million to support Parkinson’s research and patient care. The organisation hosts various driving experiences to raise funds and awareness for the cause. Previous events have showcased scenic routes in California and the Blueridge Mountains.

Understanding Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson’s disease affects nearly one million Americans and ten million people worldwide. It is the second-most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer’s and ranks as the 14th-leading cause of death in the United States. Symptoms include tremors, stiffness, impaired movement, depression, and anxiety.

There is currently no cure for Parkinson's disease. Each year in the United States alone sees 90,000 new cases diagnosed; 20 percent are Young Onset Parkinson's (YOPD), affecting individuals aged 50 or younger.

This year's Northeast Adventure promises an unforgettable experience while supporting a worthy cause. For more details on the itinerary or to register for this unique event celebrating Sam Posey and raising awareness for Parkinson's disease research visit www.drivetowardacure.org/northeast.
