Dodge Hornet Secures Victory In Nitrocross Series Debut At Richmond With Robin Larsson

Dodge made a notable entrance in the 2024-25 Nitrocross series at Richmond Raceway. Robin Larsson, the reigning Nitrocross Group E champion, drove the Dodge Hornet R/T FC1-X to victory on Saturday, September 7. This marked a strong start for Dodge in the series.

Larsson's performance was outstanding as he secured the fastest qualifying time and won his heat race, semifinal, and final. He led from pole position and maintained his lead throughout the race, finishing ahead of Oliver Eriksson and Fraser McConnell.

The Dodge team introduced a four-car lineup with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing (DRR). The team includes Larsson, Andreas Bakkerud, Fraser McConnell, and Lia Block. They compete in 1,000-plus-horsepower Dodge Hornet R/T FC1-X vehicles across ten rounds on various surfaces.

In Sunday's round two, McConnell started from pole but was hit from behind early on. Despite this setback, he managed to finish second behind Eriksson. Larsson finished fourth, Block fifth, and Bakkerud retired due to an early collision.

Larsson expressed his excitement about starting the season with a win. "It’s always special going into a new season," he said. "Having won the last two years brings a lot of confidence to myself and the team." He praised his team's efforts and highlighted the significance of having Dodge on board.

McConnell reflected on his Sunday race experience: "I feel if I didn’t get hit on the first lap that I would have won the race." He acknowledged the tough start but remained optimistic about future races.

Lia Block's Experience

Lia Block shared her thoughts on her first Nitrocross doubleheader event with Dodge. "To be honest, I was just trying to get my feet underneath everything with these high-horsepower cars," she said. She appreciated her teammates' support and looked forward to learning more in upcoming races.

Dodge's Performance

Dennis Reinbold, DRR team owner, expressed satisfaction with Dodge's debut in Nitrocross. "I’m so ecstatic with Dodge’s debut with our Dreyer & Reinbold Racing team," he said. He emphasized how well Dodge fits into the Nitrocross series with their performance-oriented vehicles.

The next Nitrocross doubleheader weekend is scheduled for October 5-6 at Utah Motorsports Campus near Salt Lake City. Fans can also experience Dodge Hornet Rally Rides during these events.
