Dodge Announces Continued Production Of HEMI-Powered Durango Models For 2025
Dodge is extending the production of its HEMI-powered Durango models into 2025, responding to market demand and customer feedback. The three-row SUV will continue to feature a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine, delivering 710 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque. Additionally, the Durango R/T will maintain its standard 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine, offering 360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Dodge Durango's powerful combination with the HEMI engine remains unmatched, according to Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO – Stellantis. "The Dodge Durango and the HEMI engine form a powerful pair, and Dodge will continue to produce the most powerful gas engine SUV on the planet into the 2025 calendar year," he stated. This decision marks a significant milestone in celebrating two decades of HEMI-powered Durango models.
Since 2004, Dodge has been producing HEMI-fueled Durango models. To commemorate this 20-year journey, four special-edition models have been introduced: the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Brass Monkey, Hammerhead, Silver Bullet, and R/T 20th Anniversary edition. These limited-production models are now available for ordering at dealerships.
The availability of the HEMI engine in the Durango lineup complements other powertrain options like the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine for the Durango GT. This expansion highlights Dodge's commitment to offering diverse multi-energy vehicle choices.
The all-new Dodge Charger Daytona represents a step towards electrification with its first all-electric cars launching soon. In late 2025, gas-powered versions like the two-door Charger SIXPACK H.O. and four-door Charger SIXPACK S.O., powered by a 3.0L Twin Turbo I-6 Hurricane engine, will follow.
Dodge's Performance Heritage
For over a century, Dodge has embodied the spirit of its founders John and Horace Dodge. Today, it continues as America's performance brand with vehicles that excel in their segments while embracing an electrified future through next-generation models like the all-new Dodge Charger.
The next-generation Dodge Charger retains its status as a leading muscle car with options like the all-electric 2024 Charger Daytona Scat Pack and various multi-energy powertrains including the 550-horsepower SIXPACK H.O., powered by a Twin Turbo Hurricane High Output engine.
Stellantis' Global Reach
Dodge remains committed to performance with models like the 710-horsepower Durango SRT Hellcat—the most powerful gas-engine SUV—and best-in-class compact utility vehicles such as the Hornet. As part of Stellantis' portfolio, Dodge continues to innovate within global automotive markets.
The brand's dedication to high-performance vehicles is evident in offerings like the Hornet R/T plug-in hybrid or GT model driven by a turbocharged inline four-cylinder Hurricane4 engine.
