All-New Dodge Charger Daytona To Debut At Roadkill Nights 2024
MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge returns for its ninth year at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan. The event will feature legally sanctioned drag racing on Woodward Avenue on Saturday, August 10. An exclusive media preview will occur on Friday, August 9.
The media preview on August 9 includes interviews with Dodge executives like CEO Matt McAlear and MotorTrend Group executives. Attendees can also speak with Direct Connection Grudge Race competitors such as Tom Bailey and Westen Champlin. The preview will also showcase the latest news on the next-generation Dodge Charger Daytona.
On August 10, the main event will host the Direct Connection Grudge Race for the fourth consecutive year. Automotive builders with significant online followings received Direct Connection HurriCrate engines to use in their drag car projects. The event will also feature street-legal drag racing in Big Tire and Small Tire classes on Woodward Avenue.
Four-time Dodge NHRA Funny Car champion Matt Hagan and European Dodge brand ambassador Ida Zetterström will showcase their powerful drag cars. Hagan’s teammate Leah Pruett will join them for an autograph session. The event promises more performance than ever before.
The schedule for August 10 includes gates opening to the public at 10 a.m., followed by open qualifying sessions for drag racing at 11 a.m. The Direct Connection Grudge Race begins at 3:40 p.m., with eliminations starting at 4:30 p.m. The day concludes with awards at 7 p.m., and gates closing at 9 p.m.
Dodge vehicle displays will include the all-new Dodge Charger Daytona R/T and the 670-horsepower Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack. Other attractions include classic and modern muscle car cruise-ins, Dodge Thrill Rides, and drag race simulators.
