Dodge Charger Daytona Launches As The World’s Quickest Electric Muscle Car With Bold Campaign
Dodge has unveiled its marketing campaign for the Dodge Charger Daytona, marking the brand's first fully electric vehicle. Known for its muscle cars, Dodge maintains its identity with this launch. The campaign, titled "Save the Planet," highlights the brand's commitment to making a difference rather than following trends. The Charger Daytona boasts 670 horsepower and aims to redefine electric vehicles.
The Charger Daytona is equipped with a 400-volt dual motor system, providing all-wheel drive and a mechanical limited slip differential. It features a unique Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust that delivers a signature sound, challenging typical electric vehicle perceptions. The Charger Daytona Scat Pack can achieve 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, offering 670 horsepower and 627 lb.-ft. of torque.
Two trims are available: the Charger Daytona R/T and Scat Pack. The R/T starts at $59,595, while the Scat Pack begins at $73,190, excluding destination fees. Both models qualify for a $7,500 federal tax credit when leased. These vehicles are part of Dodge's multi-energy lineup aimed at pushing performance boundaries.
The "Save the Planet" campaign includes broadcast and social media components. A 60-second extended version is available on YouTube, with a 30-second version airing on TV and across Dodge's digital platforms. The campaign emphasises key performance features like Donut/Drift Mode, exclusive to the Charger Daytona Scat Pack.
This mode allows drivers to control traction levels for drifting and donuts by putting the vehicle in rear-biased propulsion with Electronic Stability Control off. Additional content will highlight features such as Sport Mode and Powershot.
Dodge's Legacy and Future
Dodge continues to honour its legacy established by John and Horace Dodge over 110 years ago. As part of Stellantis' portfolio, Dodge remains committed to performance with electrified options like the new Charger Daytona. The brand also offers powerful gas engine models like the Durango SRT Hellcat and Hornet compact utility vehicle.
Matt McAlear, CEO of Dodge//SRT, stated that "Save the Planet" showcases how electrification is used to enhance performance while maintaining Dodge's essence. He noted that this is just the beginning of their multi-energy lineup expansion.
The campaign's narration underscores Dodge's mission: "We aren’t building electric vehicles because it’s trendy. We’re building them to make a difference." This message aligns with their goal to protect future generations from uninspiring self-driving vehicles cluttering streets.
