Trip To Leh Just Got More Affordable: Ticket Price Start At Rs 1,700
If you dream about travelling to Leh, but always have second thoughts about expenses, this new bus service to Leh from Delhi has got your back with a ticket price of just Rs 1,700. This new direct bus service between Delhi and Leh via Keylong takes a total of 33 hours.
Travelling from the plains to Leh by bike or car offers stunning views, especially on hilly stretches. Customising the 1,000-km journey is an added benefit. However, fuel costs can be high, and the journey can be tiring without proper breaks.

The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has introduced a budget-friendly bus service for this route. According to Press Trust of India, HRTC recently launched a direct bus service between Delhi and Leh via Keylong. This journey takes 33 hours, compared to 21 hours of non-stop driving in a car.
Route & Stops
The 37-seater bus travels from Delhi to Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh, where the driver is switched. The next stop is Keylong for another driver switch, but there is no night halt at Keylong anymore. The total distance has been reduced to 981km due to the Atal Tunnel, saving around 74km.
The bus service operates regularly with one bus starting from Delhi and another from Leh. Each ticket costs Rs 1,657. This service has received positive feedback from both tourists and locals.
Economic Impact
HRTC officials report strong earnings of around Rs 1.23 lakh daily from this service. They believe it will boost tourism in Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti districts. The service also benefits locals, labourers, and army personnel.
DriveSpark Thinks
Previously, the Delhi to Leh bus service required a night halt in Keylong, which affected its popularity. Now, with no night halt, the response has been much stronger. This new bus service offers a cost-effective travel option between Delhi and Leh while supporting local tourism and providing convenience for various travellers.
