Daimler Truck UK Celebrates Opening Of Sustainable New Headquarters In Milton Keynes
Daimler Truck UK Limited and Daimler Truck Financial Services Limited have inaugurated their new head office, marking a significant milestone. This move follows the establishment of Daimler Truck UK Limited, which distributes Mercedes-Benz Trucks and FUSO Trucks in Great Britain, and Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Northern Ireland. The new headquarters is located at Willen, Milton Keynes.
Previously, these businesses operated from Tongwell, sharing space with Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars, Vans, and Financial Services. Now, for the first time, Daimler Truck UK and Daimler Truck Financial Services have their own dedicated premises. The new building already housed Daimler Truck UK's Parts Logistics Centre within its 140,000 sq ft warehouse space.
Sustainability is a key focus for the new facility. The building has achieved an impressive 85% BREEAM rating. It features high ceiling clearance with natural light panels in the warehouse to reduce energy consumption and improve working conditions. Additionally, a rainwater collection system supplies water to the office washrooms.
The vision for sustainability extends further with plans to install solar panels for electric truck charging in the near future. This initiative aims to provide sustainable solutions for truck operators.
The official opening ceremony was attended by Heiko Selzam, Managing Director of Daimler Truck UK, and Nick Andrews, Managing Director of Daimler Truck Financial Services UK. They were joined by Jean Marc Diss, Head of Sales & Marketing at Daimler Truck’s global headquarters in Stuttgart, and Florian Schulz, Head of Sales and Customer Services FUSO Europe.
Heiko Selzam remarked: "The opening of this site represents the final step in the process of dedicating ourselves entirely to the needs of truck operators, and our Dealer network, in the UK. Separating our business from the car and van divisions was a complex and challenging task but has brought the benefit of allowing us to focus on what we do best – bringing our industry-leading vehicles, and the entire ecosystem of support services that back them up, to more customers than ever before."
Enhanced Collaboration
Nick Andrews added: "We can now work even more closely with our Sales and Aftersales colleagues to bring our full suite of products to UK truck operators, to help find the most cost-efficient solutions to the wide range of challenges faced by the transport industry today and into the future."
The completion of state-of-the-art office suites means that all operations are now consolidated on one site. This centralisation enhances efficiency and collaboration among team members.
The new head office represents a significant change for Daimler Truck UK Limited and Daimler Truck Financial Services Limited as they continue to grow their presence in the UK market.
