All-New Dacia Spring Named 'EV Deal Of The Century' By TopGear.com
The All-New Dacia Spring has been awarded the title of ‘EV Deal of the Century’ at the TopGear.com Electric Awards 2024, marking a significant achievement for the brand. This pure-electric supermini has been recognized for its exceptional value, enjoyable driving experience, and lightweight design. With a starting price of £14,995 on-the-road, it stands as the most affordable new electric vehicle (EV) in the UK, setting a new benchmark in the market.
Available for pre-order with a £99 deposit on Dacia’s official website, customers have the opportunity to enhance their purchase with a complimentary £250 bonus. This can be applied towards accessories, public charging, or a home charger through Mobilize Power Solutions, adding even more value to what is already considered an unbeatable deal.

Ollie Marriage, Head of Car Testing at TopGear.com, praised the Dacia Spring for its innovative approach to combining lightness with electric power. Weighing just 970kg, it is the only EV on the market under a ton. Marriage highlighted its engaging drive and soft ride, noting that it brings joy and smiles to the driving experience.
Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, emphasized that the Spring redefines what consumers can expect from an EV. Not only does it offer competitive pricing, but it also doesn’t skimp on usability and standard equipment. Its proven durability further cements its position as a standout offering in the electric vehicle sector.
The All-New Dacia Spring will be available in two trim levels – Expression or Extreme – with options for a 45 hp or a more powerful 65 hp/48 kW motor. It boasts a range of up to 137 miles (WLTP mixed cycle) or 186 miles (WLTP urban cycle). Its 26.8 kWh battery can be charged from 20% to 100% in less than 11 hours using a suitable domestic outlet, or in just four hours with a 7kW wall box.
Since its initial launch in 2021, the Dacia Spring has garnered over 140,000 customers across Europe, contributing significantly to making EV ownership more accessible. Its success is evident as it was among the top three most sold electric cars to retail customers in both 2022 and 2023. The UK version of Spring arrives in 2024 as an enhanced model with significant improvements in design and equipment.
