Corey Lee's New Restaurant Na Oh To Open At Hyundai Innovation Center Singapore In June 2024

SEOUL/SINGAPORE, May 13, 2024 – Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS) has announced a collaboration with Chef Corey Lee, the first Korean chef to earn three Michelin stars. This partnership will introduce Na Oh, a new restaurant concept set to open in June 2024, which aims to blend food and innovation.

Na Oh, translating to ‘moving from inside out’ in Korean, will serve as more than just a dining venue. It will be a cultural hub showcasing Korean cuisine, craft, and design. Chef Corey Lee, based in San Francisco, will lead this venture, marking his first project in Southeast Asia and adding a new dimension to Singapore’s culinary scene.

The integration of Na Oh within HMGICS will extend the hub’s customer experience beyond traditional automotive production. HMGICS operates a two-story vertical smart farm using advanced automation and robotics technology. This facility can produce over 30kg of fresh produce daily and is the first of its kind globally to be open to visitors.

Na Oh will source ingredients directly from this smart farm, creating a direct link between food and innovation. This approach aims to offer a refined farm-to-table experience. Chef Corey Lee expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration, highlighting the fusion of Hyundai’s innovation with traditional cooking techniques reimagined for Na Oh’s menu.

"It has been inspiring to bring together the innovation that Hyundai offers at HMGICS with traditional cooking techniques that we have reimagined for the menu," said Chef Corey Lee. "I hope to bring a fresh and new option for Korean cuisine to Singapore, a country renowned for its food lovers. While Na Oh will be a casual family restaurant, we will be serving the same quality products and technical preparations usually reserved for fine dining."

Under Chef Corey Lee’s guidance, Na Oh’s culinary team will deliver hansik cuisine tailored for modern tastes. The restaurant will draw inspiration from Korean traditions while collaborating with Korea’s master artisans to provide cultural insights through its curated offerings.
