Citroen E-C3 Scoops Top Prize At Prestigious 2024 Auto Express New Car Awards
Citroen's new electric e-C3 has clinched the top prize at the 2024 Auto Express New Car Awards, securing three trophies for the impressive supermini. The annual Auto Express Awards are renowned for recognising cars that offer the best overall package for consumers, considering factors like price, quality, running costs, driving appeal, and practicality.
"2024 was one of the most competitive years for the New Car Awards, which makes the fact that the new Citroen C3 scooped two category wins on the way to the overall win an even more outstanding achievement," said Auto Express editor Paul Barker. "Citroen’s Advanced Comfort tech, applied to its suspension and the seats inside a spacious cabin, give the C3 plenty of appeal on its own. However it’s the prospect of a fully electric version, priced from less than £22,000, that cements its place at the top of a very impressive list of shortlisted cars."
The Auto Express New Car Awards highlight excellence across 25 categories and include an overall Car of the Year award. These awards focus on aspects crucial to car buyers, helping them choose from a wide range of impressive vehicles regardless of budget or requirements. This year’s awards were particularly challenging yet enjoyable to judge.
Hyundai emerged as a significant winner with four trophies for its i10, Kona, Tucson, and Ioniq 5 N models. Skoda also performed well with victories in several sectors for its Octavia, Superb Estate, and Kodiaq models. Ford dominated the commercial vehicle categories with wins for Transit Courier as Van of the Year and Ranger as Pick-Up of the Year.
