Citroen C3 Aircross Electric SUV: Specs Promise Practicality
The electric car market is expanding globally, with significant growth in European countries where electric vehicles (EVs) are now sold alongside petrol and diesel cars. In line with this demand, Citroen recently introduced its new C3 Aircross electric SUV in Europe. This launch means the Citroen C3 Aircross is now available with three powertrain options: fuel engine, hybrid, and electric.
Citroen entered the Indian market in 2021 with the C5 Aircross. Over the past three years, the company has introduced several models in India, including the C3 Aircross. The starting price for the petrol engine variant of the Citroen C3 Aircross in Europe is set at 19,400 euros, approximately Rs. 17.36 lakhs.

However, in India, this variant is available at an ex-showroom price starting from Rs. 9.99 lakhs. The hybrid version of the C3 Aircross is priced at 25,500 euros in Europe, which translates to around Rs. 22.83 lakhs. The electric version of the Citroen C3 Aircross starts at 27,400 euros in Europe, roughly Rs. 24.53 lakhs.
Engine Specifications
In Europe, the petrol variant of the C3 Aircross features a Puretech turbo petrol engine capable of delivering up to 101bhp. The hybrid model also uses this turbo petrol engine but includes an additional electric motor that provides an extra 28bhp. This setup uses a 48-volt lithium-iron battery and a DCT automatic gearbox.

Electric Variant
The Citroen C3 Aircross electric car in Europe comes equipped with a 44kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery. This battery powers an electric motor that can deliver up to 111bhp. When fully charged, the car can travel up to 300km and has a top speed of 145km/h.
This electric vehicle supports up to a 100kW DC fast charger, allowing the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes.

Comparison With e-C3 In India
Citroen also offers an electric car called e-C3 in India. While there are no significant differences in appearance between the e-C3 and the C3 Aircross Electric introduced in Europe, the e-C3 features a smaller 29.2 kWh battery.
DriveSpark Thinks
Citroen's introduction of multiple powertrain options for the C3 Aircross in Europe highlights its commitment to offering diverse choices for consumers. As electric vehicles gain popularity worldwide, such advancements are crucial for meeting varying consumer needs and preferences.
That being said, Citroen is being tight-lipped about the launch of the C3 Aircross Electric SUV in India. However, we expect this model to eventually reach Indian shores as the EV market is expanding rapidly in the country.
