Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe To Be Unveiled Tomorrow In India – All Details We Know So Far
Citroen is expected to officially unveil the upcoming all-new Basalt SUV Coupe in India on August 2. As such, here are a few things we know so far about the upcoming new Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe.
Starting with the design, the Citroen Basalt is a unique-looking SUV, thanks to its coupe-like design with a sloping roofline. This is quite similar to the upcoming Tata Curvv SUV and looks sporty and youthful.

Some of the noticeable design highlights of the upcoming Citroen Basalt SUV coupe include projector LED headlamps, flip-type door handles, 360-degree plastic cladding, shark-fin antenna, and a few more interesting design elements.
Also, analysing the official exterior images revealed by Citroen India, the upcoming Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe comes fitted with very stylish-looking 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. A closer look also reveals that these alloy wheels come wrapped in 205/50 Bridgestone Turanza tyres.

To put that into perspective, the outgoing Citroen C3 Aircross SUV comes equipped with 215/60 R17 tyres. This means the Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe sports slightly narrower but lower profile tyres, resulting in slightly firmer but sportier ride characteristics.
Taking a peak into the interior, the upcoming Citoren Basalt is expected to sport an interior that is similar to the one in the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV. However, the Basalt sports more premium features such as an automatic climate control system.

Speaking about the features, the Citroen Basalt SUV Coupe is likely to come equipped with features such as a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment unit, cruise control, and more. It is also noted that the C3 Basalt comes equipped with rear disc brakes.
In terms of powertrain, the Citroen Basalt will feature the same 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine as the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV. This engine in the C3 Aircross is tuned to produce 108.4bhp and 190Nm of torque.

Like the Citroen C3 Aircross, the upcoming Citroen Basalt can be specified with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic unit (torque jumps to 205Nm in the automatic variant).
DriveSpark Thinks
