Citroen Basalt Coupe-SUV Deliveries Underway, Popularity Soars
Deliveries for the top two variants of the Citroen Basalt coupe-SUV have started, with dealers noting a growing interest in the brand. The entry-level You variant, which has a lower production rate, will see deliveries begin from October 2024. Currently, all variants have an average waiting period of about one month.
Popular Choices and Engine Options
The Basalt offers two petrol engines: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit for lower trims and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol for higher variants. The top two trims come with a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, and dealers report that nearly half of the buyers prefer this automatic option. A 70:30 split is observed in engine choices, with the naturally aspirated unit making up 30 percent of sales.

Despite the base variant's competitive starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom), around 60 percent of buyers are opting for the top-spec Max trim. This variant includes features like 16-inch alloy wheels, semi-leatherette upholstery, auto climate control, and a rear-view camera.
Colour Preferences Among Buyers
When it comes to paint options, Polar White and Garnet Red are the most popular choices among Citroen Basalt buyers. These colours seem to be in high demand across all variants.
Dealers have noted that the Citroen Basalt coupe-SUV is attracting increasing interest from customers. The vehicle's various features and options appear to be resonating well with potential buyers.
The Citroen Basalt's appeal is further enhanced by its range of features available in different trims. The Max trim's popularity highlights the importance of advanced features in buyer decisions.
The introduction of the Citroen Basalt has added another option for consumers looking for a stylish coupe-SUV with multiple engine and feature choices. As deliveries continue and more variants become available, it will be interesting to see how customer preferences evolve over time.
