Corvette ZR1 Unveiled In Miami To Honor Tadge Juechter's Illustrious Career
Chevrolet has unveiled the new Corvette ZR1 at the Concours Club near Miami. This model boasts the most powerful V8 engine ever produced by an American auto manufacturer, delivering 1,064 HP and 828 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, it generates over 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed.
"Tadge made our vehicles and our company better every day that he came to work, for nearly five decades, with his career culminating in the fastest, most powerful Corvette of them all," said GM President Mark Reuss. "ZR1, and all Corvettes that follow, will wear this symbol commemorating his immense contributions and celebrating his legacy forever."
The Corvette ZR1 also honours Tadge Juechter, the Executive Chief Engineer of Corvette. Juechter is set to retire this summer after a remarkable 47-year career with General Motors. A special graphic on the rear glass of the ZR1 coupe commemorates his contributions.Juechter’s career began in 1977 at General Motors. He joined the Corvette program in 1993 and became assistant chief engineer in 1999. By 2006, he was named executive chief engineer of Corvette. His accolades include being named "Man of the Year" by Automobile Magazine in 2014.The tribute to Juechter will extend beyond the ZR1. Starting with the 2025 model year, all Corvettes will feature this graphic on their front windshield glass and front tunnel reinforcement panel. This includes models such as Stingray, Z06, E-Ray, and ZR1.Juechter follows in the footsteps of Zora Arkus-Duntov, Corvette’s first chief engineer. Arkus-Duntov is currently featured on all production Corvette windshields. The new graphic ensures Juechter’s legacy will be remembered alongside other iconic figures in Corvette history.Career Highlights
