BrightDrop Electric Vans Now Part Of Chevrolet's Commercial Fleet
General Motors is integrating its BrightDrop electric commercial vans into the Chevrolet brand. This move will allow BrightDrop EVs to be sold and serviced through Chevrolet's extensive commercial vehicle dealer network. The BrightDrop EVs offer an estimated range of 272 miles and advanced safety features for drivers.
By adding BrightDrop's electric vans to Chevrolet's portfolio, customers will benefit from one of the largest commercial sales and service networks in the industry. All Chevrolet dealers can sell BrightDrop vans if they meet specific commercial EV requirements. Certified dealerships will also be able to service these vehicles, ensuring optimal uptime for fleet operators.

Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet, stated, "With the addition of BrightDrop to the Chevrolet lineup, we are combining advanced EV technology with the dependability and widespread accessibility that only Chevrolet can offer. This move strengthens our EV offerings and reaffirms our role as a leading commercial brand that enables businesses large and small to get work done."
The BrightDrop vehicles will continue to be manufactured at the CAMI Assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario. GM Canada President Kristian Aquilina commented, "GM Canada is proud that our team at CAMI Assembly will now produce BrightDrop commercial EVs under the Chevrolet brand. This branding evolution is a testament to the potential GM and Chevrolet see for BrightDrop in the electric fleet market, and to CAMI’s production capabilities as Canada’s first large-scale EV manufacturer."
BrightDrop was initially introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2021. In 2023, it became part of GM Envolve, which serves numerous commercial and government clients. Sandor Piszar, vice president of GM Envolve, mentioned, "The Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 and 600 will continue to feature state-of-the-art technology designed to help enhance efficiency, reduce tailpipe emissions, and optimize service and delivery operations. Integration into the Chevrolet portfolio will expand its reach and accessibility and offer more customers additional tools to help achieve their productivity and carbon-neutral goals."
Chevrolet's Legacy
Founded in 1911 in Detroit, Chevrolet has grown into one of the world's largest car brands. Its models include both electric and fuel-efficient vehicles known for their performance, design, safety features, and user-friendly technology.
General Motors aims for an all-electric future powered by its Ultium battery platform. This platform supports a range of vehicles from mass-market options to high-performance models. GM sells vehicles under several brands including Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Baojun, and Wuling.
The estimated range for the 2025 Chevrolet BrightDrop 400/600 with an optional Ultium Max Range battery pack is based on a full charge under current analytical projections consistent with SAE J1634 revision 2017 - MCT standards. Actual range may vary due to factors such as temperature, terrain, battery age, loading conditions, and vehicle maintenance.
This strategic integration not only enhances brand growth opportunities but also underscores General Motors' commitment to advancing accessible electric mobility solutions globally.
