The Chennai plant spans 160 acres in Sriperumbudur and is central to CEAT's global operations. The addition of the TBR line enhances CEAT's position as a leader in advanced manufacturing. The facility boasts connected machinery, real-time data analytics, and advanced automation.

Sustainability Initiatives

In addition to focusing on employee safety and digital transformation, the Chennai plant leads in sustainability efforts. With 25% green cover on its premises, 40% of the plant's energy comes from renewable sources like a 5 MW solar rooftop installation. There are plans to increase this to 50% by 2025.

The Chennai facility also stands out for its zero liquid discharge system, demonstrating CEAT's commitment to reducing its environmental impact. These initiatives reflect the company's dedication to sustainability alongside its manufacturing excellence.

The Chennai plant has implemented numerous safety initiatives prioritising employee well-being. It has received prestigious safety certifications such as the British Safety Council 5-Star Award and the Sword of Honour.

This recognition highlights the plant’s adherence to high safety standards. These certifications underscore CEAT’s commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

The new TBR line complements existing production capabilities at CEAT’s Chennai plant. This includes manufacturing premium Passenger Car Radial (PCR) tyres and Motorcycle Radial (MCR/MCS) tyres.

This expansion ensures that CEAT can meet growing demands for high-performance vehicles domestically and internationally while maintaining leadership in safety, sustainability, and digital innovation.
