Exploring The Artistry Of The Bugatti Baby II Tourbillon Edition: A Blend Of History And Modern Design
The Bugatti Baby II Tourbillon Edition, crafted by Hedley Studios, celebrates the new V16 hybrid hyper sports car. This limited edition merges historic design with modern artistry, drawing from Bugatti’s 115-year legacy while incorporating elements of the new Tourbillon. The creation process involves over 200 hours of meticulous craftsmanship by artisans in Oxfordshire, UK.
The scaled-down car reimagines the iconic Bugatti Type 35, bringing its century-old racing spirit into today’s world. Each Bugatti Baby II showcases traditional techniques reminiscent of those used for the original Type 35. The aluminum body panels are hand-beaten over wooden bucks using classic coachbuilding methods, similar to those employed at the Grand Prix de Lyon.
The Baby II Tourbillon Edition features a sleek livery inspired by the launch car, adorned in light and dark Aerolithe colours. A smooth 'C' curve separates these hues, echoing Bugatti’s signature C-line from behind the cockpit to the front. Inside, Light Aerolithe leather hide complements this aesthetic beautifully.
In a nod to Bugatti's past yet meeting modern electric demands, traditional gauges have been updated. The fuel pressure gauge now functions as a battery gauge, while a power gauge replaces the oil gauge, inspired by another era of Bugatti – the Veyron. The dashboard is made from turned aluminum with overlapping turns to prevent glare during driving.
The wheels of this edition reflect artistic craftsmanship with Nocturne Black rims and Gunmetal Grey Carbon spokes. Engraved ‘EB’ wheel caps and a Gunmetal Grey Carbon-accented fuel cap mirror Bugatti’s luxury standards. A hand-painted French flag by Hedley Studios’ artist aligns with the car’s fluidity.
Adjustable pedals machined from solid aluminum billet bear the renowned ‘EB’ logo. These meet modern functionality and performance needs while maintaining attention to detail seen in early Type 35 variants.

This edition was introduced during a special event at Bugatti's home this year, marking a new era for the brand. Twenty years after first creating a hyper sports car concept, Bugatti has redefined it with an entirely new powertrain and platform.
The Baby II Tourbillon Edition honours this new chapter in Bugatti’s history of motorsport success and automotive sophistication. It reflects not just a tribute but an embodiment of excellence in form and innovation that only Bugatti can achieve.
