Broad Arrow Auctions Offers Over 180 Lots Of Iconic Automotive And Motorsport Memorabilia In Two Online Sales
Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty company, is showcasing an impressive array of motorsport memorabilia through two online auctions. The UK auction runs from 13th to 27th October, while the Swiss auction occurs from 27th October to 10th November. These sales feature over 180 significant items, including racing suits and helmets from renowned drivers like Michael Schumacher.
The UK auction offers more than 100 lots of motorsport collectibles. Among them is the Brabham 1991 BT60Y display car, once driven by Martin Brundle. This car was used in the San Marino Grand Prix and served as a spare for the Monaco Grand Prix. Although sold as a showpiece without an engine, it retains its original gearbox casing. The estimated value is between £50,000 and £75,000.
A notable item in the UK sale is a life-sized Ferrari 250 TR 58 nose sculpture. This replica mirrors the original car raced by legends like Mike Hawthorn and Phil Hill. Crafted using traditional methods, it features authentic Ferrari badges and Marchal lights. Its estimated worth ranges from £12,500 to £17,500.
Another highlight is Ayrton Senna's McLaren MP4/4 front screen from his victorious 1988 season. This screen comes with a letter of authenticity from Neil Trundle, Senna's mechanic. It holds an estimated value of £5,000 to £7,000.
Max Verstappen's Red Bull overalls from the 2018 season are also up for grabs. These Puma overalls were worn during his successful campaign where he won two Grand Prix races. Authenticated by the Hall of Fame Collection, they are valued between £15,000 and £20,000.
The Swiss auction presents 75 lots of Formula One helmets from a private collection. A standout piece is Rubens Barrichello's signed Ferrari helmet from his win at the 2002 United States Grand Prix. This helmet includes a custom Ferrari radio box and is authenticated by Mike Fairholme Designs with an estimate of 12,000 – 18,000 CHF.
Jos Verstappen's Tyrrell helmet from 1997 is another prized item in the Swiss sale. Known for its unique top vents used briefly in Formula One, this helmet bears Jos's signature on its yellow visor and comes with Ken Tyrrell's letter of authenticity. It’s valued at 8,000 – 10,000 CHF.
A Michael Schumacher Benetton helmet from his early career in 1991 is also available. This Shoei GRV helmet shows signs of use and features rare Autopolis sponsorship details reversed for onboard cameras. Signed by Schumacher and accompanied by a certificate from Benetton Formula 1 team principal Flavio Briatore, it’s estimated at 22,500 – 28,000 CHF.
